There are several elements key in making innovation work:
  • Where to go, and when knowing if you got there?
  • See opportunities where others see problems
  • Know-how to develop these opportunities into realistic concepts
  • Vision and approach to know where the value lies and how to valorise it
  • Techniques to fit them into the company & its strategy
  • Succeed in finding solutions for every aspect
  • Ability to realize them
These elements form the backbone of our innovation philosophy, framework and methodology: .

is not an abbreviation, although Near Earth Object used by NASA captures some of its elements. is the Greek for new, since we don’t believe in THE methodology. It’s an everyday challenge to keep on improving and learning new things, especially in a field as young as innovation.

First of all it is a philosophy by nature of its name. It conveys the message that everything can become new, nothing is permanent, everything changes. It’s about the will and courage to give up beliefs we held dear yesterday and replace them with new ones today. And it is also about the fact that we have to accept that we aren’t new, that we carry a history, knowledge with us. And as a result we have an every day challenge to use this history and knowledge and transform into something truly mind-boggling.

Secondly, it is a framework, since it provides a clear structure for fitting in different elements that make innovation work, like creativity, project management, value & people. It also enables working from different sites, with a multinational team of people with a very different personal and professional background. This creates a very open, stimulating and inspiring environment both within our team and within our projects.

Thirdly, it is a methodology, since it provides a systematic way of working and a support for all possible questions during an innovation trajectory. For every possible challenge the most adequate techniques are available and fitted within the overall process of a project.
